Microsoft confirms new Xbox360 and price cut

Posted on Sunday, 13 July 2008 by Speed, source: Xbox.com
Microsoft has confirmed the rumours about a new 60GB Xbox360 which will go on sale for $349 (U.S.), while the 20GB model drops in price to $299 (U.S.).

"We know consumers need more and more space to store the amazing digital content Xbox 360 offers, and we're giving it to them at no extra charge," said Albert Penello, Xbox director of product management at Microsoft. "No one device offers the depth and breadth of entertainment that Xbox 360 can deliver, and now you'll have three times the storage to manage all that great content."
The 20GB version will not remain available so the $299 pricetag is only while supplies last. The 60GB model will be available as of early August.

The Xbox360 Arcade and XBox360 Elite remain at their respective retail prices of $279 and $449.

The press release only mentions US and Canada so no confirmation about this yet for Europeans or the rest of the world.
