Microsoft has been trying hard to get a firm foot into the Asian market with their Xbox. But it has been struggling hard in the land of the rising sun. Apparently Microsoft is now letting go 34 out of the 200 persons in their Japanese Xbox division. But the software giant is denying any scaling back in its attempts to conquer this large gaming market.

The affected personnel come from both the marketing and the production arms of the firm. It is done to cut down on personnel costs and to improve profits. Up till now, sales haven't reached 400 000 consoles yet.
