Microsoft just booting Ensemble, still much love for Age of Empires

In the aftermath of Microsoft shutting down Ensemble Studios, some more information regarding the involved franchises has been released by Shane Kim. He's Microsoft's VP of interactive entertainment so I guess he should know. So for all of you who love the popular series, it's good to know Microsoft shares your feelings about it.
After stating the financial aspects of the decision and shedding some light on how and when, Mr. Kim was quoted on Age of Empires:

“Microsoft continues to own Age of Empires. It is not losing Age of Empires itself. We’re still super excited for the potential for the franchise. The Windows gaming world continues to evolve, and we believe in the future of that property.”

We all knew they wouldn't be so stupid to sacrifice a certain cash cow together with the demise of a studio.
