Microsoft not guilty on weak PC market according to Stardock

Publisher Stardock responded in a conversation with Next-gen.biz on the charges of Peter Moore on his former employee Microsoft. His opinion was that Microsoft is partially responsible for the declining PC market, since they had a responsibility, but it seems the people of Stardock got another opinion about that issue!

"It's not Microsoft's fault," believes Wardell. "Yes, PC gaming needs a champion. That's one of the things that drove us to do Impulse. ... But we've seen what happens when Microsoft tries to implement useful things in their operating system. They get sued."

He elaborates, "... The reason why Microsoft can't do as much as they should is because we're talking about a company that gets sued if they bundle a media player with their OS."
They refer to a lawsuit, where the European Union fined Microsoft for about 1.5 billion Euros if they didn't bring out a seperate Windows version without its Mediaplayer.

In Wardell's opinion, Microsoft could simply be afraid of getting sued again if the company decided to bundle, say, a digital distribution client for PC games in Windows Vista.
Because of this, companies need to build their own distribution systems like Greenhouse or Steam, simply because Microsoft isn't allowed to do so. You can read the full newspost on next-gen.biz.

PC market is weak? Says who? Sony? MS? PC sell like charm and so do good PC games. The fact that no one is tatooing it on their forhead like those sad console manufacturers does not mean it's not there.

I hate MS fanbois like you.
