Microsoft partnering with Sony??? *Updated*
Posted on Friday, 15 July 2011 by Speed, source: Domaintools
Update: Microsoft corporate communications VP Frank Shaw has updated his twitter with word that the domain registration was just a defensive domain hold:
New domain registrations suggest arch enemies Microsoft and Sony could be partnering up? Two new domains have been registered by Microsoft that would suggest so.
The domains are sony-microsoft.com and microsoft-sony.com. Both domains currently just lead to a search page and there's no official word yet on what these urls are supposed to be used for.
Beware as although they're rivals with regards to consoles, they are already partners on the PC platform with Sony shipping PC's with Windows. So it could very well be that these domains will be used in that regards. Hopefully we'll get some clarification soon.
re: sony/ms domain names: Sony = great MS partner. No scoop here, this was just a defensive domain hold. Let's move on to weekend, kay? :)
