Microsoft signs Marvel MMOG

According to this Reuters story, Microsoft has acquired the rights to develop several massive multiplayer online games (MMOG's) based on the Marvel comic books.
It seems also that Microsoft will release the first game as an Xbox 360 exclusive. Work on the game should be finished by 2008.

"Online gaming is reaching a point of acceptance. We will use as many of the Marvel characters as we can" in the MMO game, said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of worldwide marketing and publishing for Microsoft's Xbox.
Just like with the DC Comics mmog (in development at Sony Online) I keep asking myself what good it'll be to play existing heroes, if that is what they mean. In other news:
