Midway UK and France bought for... 1 euro
Hell, for that kind of money even I could have gone in and bought the place!
Earlier this week we reported that THQ had taken over Midway San Diego and that the UK and France parts of the defunct game company had undergone a management buyout. Today, we learnt Midway's managing director for Europe, Martin Spiess, bought both parts for no more than 1 euro.
Earlier this week we reported that THQ had taken over Midway San Diego and that the UK and France parts of the defunct game company had undergone a management buyout. Today, we learnt Midway's managing director for Europe, Martin Spiess, bought both parts for no more than 1 euro.
Midway's managing director for Europe Martin Spiess has negotiated the bargain deal, which sees him buy both the Midway Games France and UK offices for €1. (Equivalent to around 86 pence at the current exchange rate.)
The move is effectively a management buyout. Midway Germany's general manager Uwe Fürstenberg has similarly negotiated the purchase of that office, the SEC filing also reveals - although it doesn't specify how much Fürstenberg's outfit F+F Publishing paid
