More details on aliens in C&C3

We all know that the world of Command & Conquer 3 will be devoured by the Tiberium, that dangerous but oh so lucrative green ore.

While the GDI (Global Defensive Initiative) tries to bring mankind back on the right track, NOC, a group of terrorist scum, tries to do their best to create as much chaos as possible. In 2047 both will get a major surprise though: during one of the biggest confrontations between both, suddenly the Scrin come into the picture!

The Scrin are an alien race, coming from Neptune, who finally see their chance to end the war on Earth as the "third dog". Once landed they attack with all they got to get as much Tiberium as they can. It's clear there's more to it.

Next to an interesting plot twist in the story, the new race will also make for even more surprising and original units:

Basic Scrin units include swarms of flying razor blades called Buzzers that serve as the front line infantry, hordes of Disintegrator drones that use short range laser cutting torches to disassemble enemy units, insect-like Shock Troopers, and vehicles like the Seeker tank that fire plasma bursts at vehicles and aircraft. Mid-game units like the liquid Tiberium spewing Corrupter and the Tiberium guzzling Devourer Tank make life interesting for GDI and Nod players as the Scrin player techs up to gain access to his or her powerful late game units. Specialized infantry include the Assimilator – basically an engineer – and the Mastermind, a nasty high end unit capable of teleporting allied units from place to place and taking over and directing enemy units and structures.

Thanks to their advanced technology they can generate force fields, move things to another dimension and call for all kinds of strange natural phenomena. Add to that their dependence on Tiberium and you've got a faction that hopefully brings more than just some visual change.

More info on this PC and X360 RTS will hopefully follow shortly.
