More details regarding Wii 2... or is it Stream?
Plenty of details have surfaced regarding Nintendo's successor to the Wii, including pricing, hardware and even a release schedule.
IGN has got the scoop and here's a summary of what they managed to uncover:
Price between $350 and $450 Shipping is scheduled as of October Retail release can start between October and November but Nintendo might decide to delay actual release to early 2012 The system will be based on a revamped version of AMD's R700 GPU architecture The system's CPU will be a custom-built triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset, but the clocking speeds will be faster 1080p output with the potential for stereoscopic 3D as well Overall size will be comparable to that of the original Xbox 360 and the system is likely to resemble a modernized version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Nintendo is considering naming the console Stream, though it is potentially one of several names currently being vetted by the company Of course this is all info from "sources" to nothing definite just yet.
Personally I'm not looking forward to seeing an XBox-like brick under my TV again so hopefully the design of the Wii successor will be more in line with that of Nintendo's current console.
