Weiss is excited to be working on the script and admitted he played through Halo on an easier difficulty level just so that he could see how the story unfolds. That doesn't mean that Halo-fans should be looking for a film that is a direct port of the source material: "There will be the 5% on the fringe of any hardcore fanbase that get angry about any change you make to the source material. The truth is that novels, games, comics, and what-have-you are not usually ready to be slapped up on screen as-is."
Weiss told us he had to finish Halo ("easy" mode) because he had to situate himself in the story. The original story will be adaptad, because it's not fitted to show on the big screen. So don't expect a complete "port" of the game when you go to the theater. However, a big number of details will be transported from the game to the big screen.
