Mortal Kombat getting new movie and game in 2013
Warner Brothers Interactive and New Line Cinema have partnered up to have a new movie made based on NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat.
Kevin Tancharoen, who produced the promotional web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy after having created a fan-film trailer, will act as director while Oren Uziel will write the script.
The movie is expected to be released in 2013, alongside a new game.

“The new game and the online shorts prompted us to consider a reboot of a brand we hadn’t been actively thinking about,” New Line president Toby Emmerich said.
