NPD: Wii and 3DS are hurting

Despite the launch of the 3DS not being all too bad, sales for the new hanheld are declining rapidly.
Things aren't going too great for Nintendo in the US. According to the latest numbers from NPD, for the month of April, the Big N saw sales for the Nintendo Wii drop 40% compared to March, and also 38% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, the 3DS managed to sell 400.000 units in its first week on the market, but saw that number drop to only 194.000 in April.
Year over year, both the Xbox360 and the PS3 have been doing fine. Microsoft's console sold 60% more, while also the PS3 - despite the PSN downtime which started in April - managed to have its sales go up with 13%. Mind you, compared to March both consoles did worse. We expect that the PSN outage may have as result that PS3 sales for May drop significantly.
Qua software the top selling titles were Mortal Kombat, Portal 2, LEGO Star Wars 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12. Exactly what you would have expected.
