This summer another CyberAthlete Extreme World Championship will be organised. From Wednesday, July 28[sup]th[/sup] to Sunday, August 1[sup]st[/sup] the place to be is ... the brand new Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine ... Texas. Erm... they couldn't have picked a better place.
Event attractions include: five official computer game tournaments with $275,000 in cash prizes, a large Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) area, CPL's largest exhibition area ever, large spectator arena, new stage hosted at the Intel pavilion, music concert, unofficial tournaments, workshops, and more.
Next to the most popular online game Counter-Strike (you calling me a cheater, boy ?), another tournament game will be a Fragland-crew favorite: Call of Duty.

Because I don't like to be wrongfully called a cheater, let's have a closer look to the Call of Duty part of the compo, shall we ? This is the prizemoney for the winners and runners-up:

    1 - $15,000.00
    2 - $10,500.00
    3 - $7,000.00
    4 - $4,500.00
    5 - $3,000.00
    6 - $2,500.00
    7 - $1,500.00
    8 - $1,000.00
    9 thru 12 - $750.00
    13 thru 16 - $500
Quite an amount of money if you ask me. If you'd to register and compete, here are some important facts and links:
  • Registration for new teams will be open until July 9, 2004
  • A minimum of 6 players registered is required to confirm a team slot for the tournament
  • Registration must by done individually, and cost is $80/person
  • Competitors must be at least 16, and if under 17 must provide parental consent
  • Rules for the Tournament
  • Teams already registered
If you're going... have fun !
