New Counter-Strike coming in 2012!
Valve has announced we can expect a successor to one of the most popular games ever.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is planned for Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Mac and this for early next year.
The gameplay will build further on the team-based action that's been keeping PC gamers occupied for over a decade. Of course there's going to be new maps, new characters and weapons, but also updates of current content. Also new modes will be present, matchmaking is coming (hopefully not on PC) and let's not forget: leaderboards.
Doug Lombardi, marketing VP at Valve, is already quite enthusiastic:
Those who travel a lot can already try out the game at PAX Prime and the Eurogamer Expo in the UK. More info can be found on Steam.
