New Doom Director
Posted on Sunday, 12 September 2004 by BillieTurf, source: Fragland
Although the movie is not yet guaranteed to be produced, Universal has now chosen Andrzej Bartkowiak to direct the motion picture and thereby replaces Enda McCallion. Bartkowiak directed only three movies: Cradle 2 the Grave, Exit Woonds and Romeo Must Die.
Not one of my favourite directors but perhaps he will take this opportunity to prove himself? I have the feeling that not only his reputation is at stake because a Doom movie could flip things over for the industry too.
Resident Evil has done it before, but recently a lot of people did not seem to like the game/movie combination that Catwoman brought. Doom, which was of course an outstanding game, was also welcomed with mixed feelings so the movie will have to be outstanding as critics will tend to be harsh, but then again aren’t they always ?!
