New FlatOut 2 info + release date

With over 800.000 sold copies, FlatOut must have been one of the best selling games ever for publisher Empire. So it's not strange to see that they'll be releasing FlatOut 2 this year.

Contradictory to the first part, this new edition will not be set in Europe but in the USA. Cities like Big City, LA Storm Drains and Rocky Mountain Forest will be portrayed by a new graphical engine that also allows to develop better AI. Big Bear Interactive has stated that each opponent will have a personal AI.

One of the strongest aspects from FlatOut was without a doubt the physics engine and in the upcoming sequel this will be upgraded as well.

FlatOut 2 also hasn't stolen its name. The number 2 can be seen as the red line of the game as there will be double the amount of tracks, vehicles and rag doll minigames. Also a ton of unlockables are present including bonus cars and destruction arenas.

FlatOut 2 is supposed to hit the stores in May on PS2, Xbox and PC.
