New Stuntman game officially announced

Gamespot received official confirmation that THQ will bring back the Stuntman franchise in the form of Stuntman: Ignition on PS2, PS3 and Xbox360

Ignition will carry on the original's spirit of honoring the Hollywood stuntman by tasking players to drive vehicles on location during a film shoot. There will be more than 25 different types of rides, including motorcycles, sports cars, and hovercraft. Directors will ask gamers to make improbable jumps and other dangerous stunts in one take--and make it look easy. The sequel will also feature online multiplayer, pitting fall guy versus fall guy on movie sets, back lots, or user-created sets.

The game is set for release this Summer

Will be keeping an eye on this one, loved the original Stuntman on PS2.
Great fun to play and a great challenge, was a dam hard game.

Be interesting to see how multiplayer pans out.

The *real* original stuntman game was PC, back in the early 90s if I'm not mistaken :)

Actually, there were several stunt driver games (not all from the same publisher of course ;p). Stunts was one and "Stunt man" or "Stunt Driver" (dunno the exact title anymore) the other.

Stunt Car Racer was superb game where you drove in like rollercoaster or something. There was very high jumps and stuff. I had it with Amiga. Very addictive it was.

Stunts aka 4D sports driving was good too. It was more like regular driving game allthough there was lot's of jumps too and corkscrews.

Stuntman was an-all new racing title by Reflections, had little in common with other games, afaik.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first Stuntman game; its difficulty was very high, but only very few other games have given me such a sense of accomplishment after fully completing it.
