New Top Gun takes to the skies, with trailer

For those who cannot wait before Tom Clancy's new H.A.W.X. hits the shelves, or for those who started to drool when Ace Combat 6 was announced: here's something to keep you busy in the meantime!
Top Gun is being developed by Paramount Digital Entertainment and will be available on PSN come August 17th. The previously announced PC version seems to have flown back into the freezer for now.
The arcade flier will comprise of five different multiplayer modes allowing up to 16 players to play the game simultaneously. On top of this three different singleplayer modes have been provided. These range from "Flight School" to a campaign mode and also a "Horde" mode, where the player is pitted against endless waves of enemy fighters. As a virtual pilot you can get behind the control stick of six different aircraft.
The story behind the campaign has been written by the author of the scenario for the original movie. Wether or not this is a good or a bad thing is up to you to decide. Here is the trailer:
