New attack against Sony planned?
Not sure how credible this is, but we don't want to hold any info back from you, so here goes.
CNet is reporting that an "observer" of the IRC channel used by the hackers that brought down Sony Entertainment's Playstation Network is claiming a "third attack" against the company is planned for this weekend:
CNet is reporting that an "observer" of the IRC channel used by the hackers that brought down Sony Entertainment's Playstation Network is claiming a "third attack" against the company is planned for this weekend:
An observer of the Internet Relay Chat channel used by the hackers told CNET today that a third major attack is planned this weekend against Sony's Web site. The people involved plan to publicize all or some of the information they are able to copy from Sony's servers, which could include customer names, credit card numbers, and addresses, according to the source. The hackers claim they currently have access to some of Sony's servers.
I'm wondering what they would plan to attack or what the purpose would be of such an attack. Bringing down PSN again right after it's brought back up... now THAT would be a blow to Sony.In other news:
