Bioware was kind enough to release a short biography of Nihlus Kryik a Turian in the game Mass Effect. This Alien had the habit of disobeying his superiors orders and use his own methods. Because of this, his military career was as good as over until he met Saren Arterius, a fellow Turian that was a member of the elite Spectre Unit.

Because Saren was quite impressed by Nihlus his abilities he trained him until he was a complete member of Spectre and at this moment he still is.
