Newest game-to-movie conversion: God of War

Universal has secured the movie rights to God of War, a PS2-game created by Sony Computer Entertainment. In this game, set in mythological ancient Greece, the player assumes the role of Kratos, a Spartan warrior who embarks on a quest to destroy Ares, the God of War.

The movie will be produced by Alex Gartner (Out of Time, Barbershop 2) and Charles Roven (Batman Begins, Twelve Monkeys), Universal did not release any information on the writer nor the director.
