Next-gen PES6 and FIFA07 become Xbox 360 exclusives!

According to GameSpot, Microsoft just made a major move. They're claiming that the next-gen versions of FIFA07 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will appear exclusively on Xbox 360 until late 2007. That means no versions for the Wii or PS3 until then.

In related news, Microsoft has confirmed to GameSpot that the Xbox 360 will be the exclusive next-generation home for both FIFA 07 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (titled Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 in the US) for the next 12 months. The news marks a major coup for the company, since it elminates any chance of either of the megapopular sports franchises coming to either Sony's PlayStation 3 or Nintendo's Wii until late 2007.

Next to that, EA stressed the fact that FIFA 07 will be a huge step forwards for the series. Everything was built form scratch, including a new engine that will offer more realistic ball physics, smoother movements and a much better A.I. for your opponents.

Am I the only one who thinks this move will leave a lot of gamers out cold?

Imo Microsoft is throwing an ENORMOUS ammount of money at EA to make up for all of the (high) development costs (not to mention loss of sales) or the news is just wrong.

I'm still asking myself why on earth the producer of 07 yesterday told Eurogamer that the PS3 version would launch in 2007 (i.e. early 2007), if he had already known MS's next move.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense and I'm expecting a correction one of the following days.
