Nintendo informed that, since the release of the Nintendo DS at the 21st of November 2004, this handheld has been sold more than 21 million times.
A quick calculation tells that this would be one DS per two seconds. So by the time, this text is written down, they have sold some more DS's.

According to the vice-president of marketing and communication, George Harrison, this success is due to the fact that their handheld has something to offer for different people of different ages. Also, games such as Animal Crossing and New Super Mario Bros have a great impact on the sales numbers of the past few months.

Earlier this month, Harrison gave away some more numbers, which stated that the sales have increased with 426 percent since last year.
