Nintendo E3 Conference Live report.

In Santa Monica Nintendo gives it's press conference at 18 PM (9 AM local time). If everything goes as planned our own reporters b|0-0|n and DoubleD are present in the room. But thanks to the internet we can report to you now... if we're in luck and the internet doesn't melt because the millions of fanboys can't stop pressing F5.

The press conference starts of with a clip of how big the expectations were at Wii-launch and how succesfull the two devices of Nintendo have been. Bit lacking in the modesty department, but the N-fans kind of need this and this as good of a time for it.
“My name is Reggie, and I am happy!” Numbers, graphs, Powerpoint effects, growth everywhere, probably also in private areas seeing the worth of Nintendo stocks.

Lots of boring statistics stuff. Also Nintendo claims that 30% of people that play Nintendo hardware are women, competitors can't go higher then 20%.

Now we're talking games. 100 new Wii-games to come out 'till the end of this year which brings the total to 160. Also the DS gets a hugeboost in games.

Wii Zapper was announced. A periphal that looks like a pump-action shotgun that can house the Wiimote and nunchuk. Will be used by RE Umbrella Chronicles and SEGA's Ghost Squad and Metroid Prime 3.

Medal of Honor Wii will support 32-player online multiplayer. Also the Wii Zapper will cost $19,99 and will be avaible end of this year.

SquareEnix working on a Dragon Quest game for the Wii. Trailer for Mario & Sonic at the Olympics. Smash Brothers Brawl will release in the US on 3rd of December

Talking about the new Zelda for the DS. Completetly controlled trough the touchscreen. highly praised in Japan and selling very well over there too. Touchscreen controls meant to keep game hardcore but appealing to new gamers at the same time.

Jackie comes up to demo Metroid Prime 3 with the Wii Zapper. Claims best console FPS controls ever. You can lock-on but at the same time still freely move your aim across the screen. Also different sensetivity settings.

Online then. 5,5 millions DS-owners have gone online. 5,6 millions games have been download for the Wii. Wii-Ware Channel reconfirmed. Check Mii Out channel revealed. Vote for the best-looking Mii. Also EA sportgames will go online as well.

Mario Kart for Wii announced. Coming out in the VS early 2008. Will feature online multiplayer with more then four characters. Will be aimed at the hardcore but with easy-to-learn controls trough a special steering wheel packend in with Mario Kart. Also Battlemode will be online.

People playing Mario Galaxy...urge to kill rising. Mario Galaxy seen as the true successor of Mario 64. A whole lot of new training games announced...vision training?

And the new Shigsy game is...Wii Fit! Game consist out of 40 parts like aerobics, balancing, yoga, heading balls... uses new add-on where you have to stand on. Sensors know how you are standing on the plaform...also know how much you weigh.
Meaning is to help people lose weight and get in shape by using the fun of a game enviroment. I'm only seeing the dollar signs in the eys of Nintendo execs.
Reggie is being used as guinea pig. A lot of jokes about his big size (and that of his wallet). The plaform can register how you stand straight and so find out if you have a beerbelly or lean a bit more to the right or left. Reggie has a BMI of 27,5, normal is 22. Laughter all around.

Match between Reggie and Miyamoto. Game is heading. You have to lean left or richt on the platform to make your character go left or right so you can head the balls. Also some kind of shoes are flying around which you need to dodge. Reggie wins the headingcontest.

Reggie talks about Nintendo's time to lead the way. He's happy but will only be trully satisfied if gaming has become the premier form of entertainment (the other forms being music, movies and books).
