In a recent press release, Nintendo has announced the official name of the "Revolution". We haven't got any confirmation from Nintendo yet, so we're not sure yet.

The have chosen that name because it reflects their strategy to reach the gamers and non-gamers with their newest console. They hope that the console will offer something for everyone.

If you look real close, you'll notice the connection between the 'n' in 'Nintendo' and the 'l' in 'play'; that would present the same shape as the new controller. That's the same technique Nintendo used for their Nintendo DS.
