A MMO with colourful mushrooms, happy songs and a fat plumber as main character, it's not going to happen soon.

Satoru Iwata, big boss at Nintendo, told Gamespot that the company isn't interested in making a MMO unless "the service is fun if you're 5 or 95". So it's clear accessibility is still the key word for Nintendo:

In the interview, Iwata also said the limited success of third-party titles for the Wii is a problem that will solve itself. He compared the situation with that of the DS. For that platform, it also took about two years before developers took full advantages of the possibilities. Iwata even cited the NPD Group data from last December to illustrate the tide is turning:

"Wii titles are outselling Xbox 360 titles, and only five of the 20 Wii titles on the list were created by Nintendo, with the remaining 15 from third-party developers."

"It feels like it takes a bit of time for popular perception to catch up to the actual sales figures,"
