After Capcom earlier on, Nintendo now also published some bad Q1 results. From April 1st to June 31st there was a decline in sales of 25% compared to last year which resulted in a net loss 25,216 million yen ($290 million).

Reasons for the decline are sought with a "lesser amount software titles", the DS price being dropped and foreign losses increasing regular losses.

Even Mario wasn't a match for the bad performance yet he managed to sell himself 4.06 million times with Super Mario Galaxy 2 which increased the hardware sales. Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort didn't do too shabby either with over 3 million copies.

On the DS front, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver combined over 1.7 million copies sold but they couldn't help the DS hardware sales going down.

It wasn't all tears and frowns as they tried to end it on a positive note, repeating what Nintendo stands for.
