Nintendo dominates Australia in 2007

Figures released by GfK Australia show how
Australia is completely dominated by the Nintendo hardware.
In December alone, 133,691 Nintendo DS handhelds were sold, bringing the total for 2007 to 509,8§9 units. This makes it the best selling game platform in Australia in 2007.
In the consoles department, the Nintendo Wii is performaring equally well to its little brother. It's the first console to reach the 300,000 sold units mark, of which 73,318 in December.

The Wii has been a strong seller down under since its December 2006 debut and holds the title for fastest to 100,000 sales and 200,000 sales.
Sony's Playstation 3 doesn't even get near these numbers, with only 155,000 sold consoles since its release in March 2007. Microsoft hasn't released any sales figures, but it is estimated they have sold over 160,000 units in 2007.In other news:
