Nintendo dominates Japan
Enterbrain, publisher of Famitsu magazine, has released the Japanese salesfigures of May to the world and aparently Nintendo is still going strong.
In the hardwaredepartment, the DS Lite comes out victorious. With 600.000 units sold, it takes up 56% of the total hardwaresales. Sony's PSP got second place with an honourable 120.000 units.
In consoleland the Wii also holds its place at the top with 250.000 sold units. On the Sony side it's remarkable that the 'old' PS2 still sells more than its big brother, the PS3. Microsoft limps a bit behind with 11.000 Xbox360s sold and the GBA closes the list with 2000 units.
If you sum it all up, Nintendo sells 78% of all hardware in Japan!
If we look at software, Nintendo wins again in numbers, but the number one position is reserved for a PSP game.
