Has Nintendo gone crazy or do they just want to make sure other people don't get to use names similar to "Wii"?

Engadget is reporting that The Big N has renewed the trademark for Zii which they suppose might be the upcoming Wii HD, but to add to the confusion, also Cii, Bii, Oii and Yii have been registered.

So, unless Nintendo is planning on overwhelming us with new products, I suggest that anyone wanting to register Dii, Fii, or any of the other possibilities that are still available, better be fast.
