Nintendo profits down 43%

Reuters has word that Nintendo saw its profits decrease with no less than 43% in the third quarter of their financial year. Main reason quoted for the drop is the huge drop in sales of the DS with the 3DS coming out pretty soon.

Underscoring the tough competition, Nintendo cut its sales forecast for the Wii console to 16 million units from 17.5 million units for the year to March. It also lowered its DS sales forecast to 22.5 million units from 23.5 million.
