Nintendo sticks with Pro-Logic

Posted on Sunday, 24 September 2006 by Roman, source: Fragland
Dolby Laboratories has announed that the Wii will use use Dolby Pro Logic II technology to offer gamers an immersive surround sound experience.

"Dolby Pro Logic II technology ensures that the Wii console can offer rich, immersive surround sound, which is essential to a great gaming experience,” said John Griffin, Marketing Director, Games, Dolby Laboratories. "We're looking forward to hearing how great Nintendo's games sound at launch."

That said, Pro Logic II still isn't "real surround sound".

True surron sound can have a can have a much more immerisive and realistic impact on you.
I want sound to be more than just something pretty to listen to, i want it to be a part of the play, i.e being able to know where the action is by the direction the sound hits me from.

Pro Logic II, nty.
