No Blu-ray for Xbox360 after all

Aaron Greenberg, group product manager for Xbox 360, has stated that despite popular belief Microsoft is not in talks with Sony to add Blu-ray to the Xbox360.

Instead, Greenberg said that Microsoft is more focused on delivering HD content through digital distribution

"Xbox is not currently in talks with Sony or the Blu-ray Association to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience,"

"We're the only console offering digital distribution of entertainment content,"

Darn, an Xbox360 Arcade with Blu-ray drive would really be a great thing in my opinion. Microsoft would probably have had the cheapest Blu-ray player on the market.

I love this. Everyone critisized Sony for pushing the Blu-Ray on ppl on the PS3, and now I read story after story of press and ppl wanting MS to include Blu-Ray.

Sorry I just dont buy into this "victory" of blu-ray in the format wars. Sure HD-DVD is dead, but I'm still not going to buy a blu-ray anytime soon.

I would just want a HD player. Personally, I loved HD-DVD and am sad it didn't win, but with only blu-ray left, I would like to have a player as cheap as possible :)

sony won by defualt only cause there ps3 was included in numbers sold ,now theyve bumped up the prices because of lack of competition surely this shows what a load of crooks they are....ill nvr buy a blueray crappy player,overpriced crap,cant even use ya old dvds...if they think im gonna rebuy my collection then there trippin........i h8 sony

Saves you from having to buy a seperate dvd player/blu-ray player/hd-dvd player?
Not that I want a Blu-Ray anyway for the time being :)
