No Crackdown for Germany?

Gamespot is reporting that the German rating board is giving Crackdown the same treatment as Dead Rising: refusing to give the game a classification.

This same treatment resulted in Dead Rising not to go on sale in Germany so you can expect a similar move with Crackdown.

Microsoft's response is quite the usual pr blurb:

"Microsoft respects the decision of the German ratings board--the USK--not to provide the title with a rating. While Microsoft will continue to follow its policy of not publishing unrated titles, we remain committed to delivering Crackdown and other top-quality entertainment experiences to age-appropriate audiences around the world."

Ze Germans don't like violence it seems...
