No DLC for Bioshock 2 PC

Posted on Sunday, 10 October 2010 by Speed, source: 2K Games Forums
The 2K Games forums have an update from 2K Elizabeth with word that the Minerva's Den DLC and the Protector Trials pack will not be coming to the PC version of Irrational Games' Bioshock 2.

The reason? Timing and technical issues apparently:
We will not be adding vending machine sounds into any version of BioShock 2 and we will not be adding playlists for the multiplayer DLC maps – we did look in to both options but due to technical and timing issues, these two fixes are not feasible. We are planning patches for the 360 and PS3 to fix some functionality issues, but they will not drastically change gameplay (and I’ll post the patch notes when I get them – these two items are still in with QA.) We will also not be offering Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den on the PC in the future – and I want to say that I’m sorry for the disappointment this will cause to PC players out there.
And then people wonder why PC is losing popularity...

PC is the biggest gaming platform of all. You can take all 3 of the consoles, put them together and it doesnt hold a flame to the amount of PC gamers and sales (and it's growing fast), its just the consoles makers put out stats for just the big retail titles. With browser based games coming to rise in the last few years, PC gaming has exploded. Facebook, Pogo and the likes. Games are games, and they count, but console makers don't want us to see those stats.

pc is not losing popularity
It isn't in overall stats (including social gaming, mmog's, etc) but it is when it comes to "retail" games. FPS, RTS, Racing, ... stuff that doesn't use subscriptions or micropayments to keep going.

Eventhough I don't like that trend myself.
