No more virtual goods on eBay

eBay has stated that they will no longer be offering virtual items like characters or weapons. Still, with the startup of IGE and Sony's Playstation Exchange people have started to accept that selling of MMOG items have become part of the gaming culture.

eBay had the following commentary:

"For the overall health of the marketplace" the company felt that the proper course of action, after considerable contemplation, was to ban the sale of these items outright.

One can only sell something virtual items on eBay if they're your own intellectual property or if you've got permission from the owner. Now let's hope this won't have any further consequences.
