Okami gets a sequel, maybe
Posted on Wednesday, 26 August 2009 by Zembla, source: Siliconera
We rated Okami, a sort of Zelda in a world filled with colors, wolves, paintbrushes and other magical surroundings, a whopping 94% in the spring of 2007. The PlayStation 2 game - which in the meantime has also spawned an improved version for the Wii - should be in the games collection of every self-respecting gamer.
Despite all the praise of the critics the game was no top-seller, and when developer Clover Studios shut its doors the chances of a sequel seemed reduced from slim to zero.
Those who still cherished hope for a second installment may prove to be right after all. Capcom has recently filed a trademark for Okamiden, which can be short for Okami Gaiden or Okami Densetsu. However, it might just as well be a registration for the upcoming release of the Wii version in Japan. Over there the game will launch on the 15th of October.
Capcom did say a few weeks ago though, they were working on a sequel that would completely surprise us and blow our minds. Who knows!
