Gamespy continues with their engine-week, this time looking at Monolith's Lithtech 2 engine and talking with several of Monolith's programmers.[BLOCK]Jeff - Real-time 3d graphics has many more years of fast-paced innovation to look forward to and we are evolving the LithTech engine right along with it. Even though poly counts are many orders of magnitude higher now than early 3D games, we're definitely not at the point where we can just toss in more geometry till we get the effect we imagine. Graphics tricks, like bump mapping, environment mapping, and detail textures are both very necessary and very cool. We already support many of these techniques, like environment mapping and detail texturing and we will continue to incorporate new ones as graphics hardware evolves and makes them possible[/BLOCK]
