Online gaming theft... Chinese gamer wins
Strange news reaches us from Beijing - China, where Mister Li Hongchen won a courtcase involving online theft... in a game.
Li Hongchen had been playing the MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) Redmoon for over 2 years, collecting (virtual) money, weapons and victories. In total, he spend over 10 000 yuan (€975 - $1 210) on the game.
But a court in Bejing now judged that the company has to 'return' Li's property and secure their servers.
You just got to love stories like these :D

But the poor guy got mugged... virtually . Because a hacker looted Li's game account and ran off with all his goodies. Li protested and asked to be compensated by the company running the game but they declined, stating that it was just data, not 'real stuff'.But a court in Bejing now judged that the company has to 'return' Li's property and secure their servers.
