Origin to be Wii U's digital service?
An unnamed EA intern has stated that Nintendo is planning to use EA's Origin service as part of their digital offering for the Wii U, with the publisher trying to convince the console bigshot to even get exclusivity.
EA isn't the only party in talks with the Big N, though. Also Valve is trying to get Steam on board of Nintendo's online strategy:

According to our source, EA isn’t the only company looking into bringing its digital distribution platform to the Wii U – Valve, too, are interested in getting Steam onto it. But EA are “aggressively persuading Nintendo to go Origins exclusive with Wii U’s online so they can gain a competitive advantage over Steam.”
Having a developer like Valve as partner for a digital distribution platform is one thing. Having a game publisher like EA, is a whole other thing. Personally, if I were a competing publisher, I wouldn't be all too happy making games for a platform that supports my direct competition.Of course, this is all just rumours and hearsay for the moment so best to take it with a grain of salt.
