Microsoft sent about 10,3 million units of the Xbox360 to stores in their fiscal year 2010, compared to 11,2 million the year before. This brings the total amount up to 41,7 million since launch.

The "Entertainment and Devices Division" this way managed to generate overall revenue of over eight billion dollar, including software and Zune sales.

That number is about the same as in 2009 but the profit went up quite a lot, going from 108 to 679 million dollars. Small detail is that X360 and PC games earned less money than the year before but the increase in revenue from Xbox LIVE made up for that.

Microsoft believes that the recently launched X360 Slim, the new 4GB Arcade version, Halo: Reach and of course Kinect will make sure to keep the numbers high.

With 25 million subscribers Xbox LIVE is becoming extremely important but also interesting to know is the fact that sales on Marketplace are higher than the total income gained from subscriptions.

Microsoft expects their grow with EDD will be around 15% next year.
