World of Warcraft is without a doubt the most successful MMORPG in gaming history. Because of it's familiar setting, the keen eye for detail and ofcourse the easy access for new players, the game in no-time became a huge success.

At this moment, Azeroth houses no less than 4 million inhabitants.

Since its North America debut, World of Warcraft has steadily grown in popularity around the world. Following launches in Australia, New Zealand, Korea, and Europe, World of Warcraft recently released in China on June 7, 2005, and quickly garnered over 1.5 million paying customers in its first month. Shortly after the China launch, World of Warcraft made its debut in Singapore. The game is currently scheduled to launch in the region of Taiwan later this year.

With one million subscribers in the US and one and a half million in China, there should be no doubt that Taiwan will be next to be enticed by this powerful drug.

Dan Brown is also considered an excellent writer but I still think his books suck. Same with WoW. Just a big shiny pumped up baloon.

We all know china has had addiction problems in the past, first optium now WoW. Its why the country has to put restrictions on time played.

I played the game for 3 months. The end-game content is horrible, and you get really fed up with all the brainless grinding.

I feel really sorry for the 4 millions who are mostly brainwashed by this game. Some people have dropped out of school or lost their jobs, friends, and families over this game, you know.

Its in the nature of a good MMORPG to be addictive. Everquest did the same thing for a while. I know someone who dropped out of college because of it.

In fact we should be thankful WoW is not as good as it can be or else most of its player base would be overly addicted.
