In a world that is focussing more and more on console development first and PC ports (much much) later it's nice to see that the PC Gaming Alliance (PCGA) is still alive and kicking.

Yesterday the PCGA announced that it has singed some new members like BFG Technologies, Bigfoot Networks, Flextronics, GameStop, GameTap, Howie's Game Shack and InstantAction. The biggest new name however was Supreme Commander and Demigod developer Gas Powered Games.

This organisation, which operates as a non-profit consortium, is on a mission to 'drive worldwide growth of PC gaming' or as described on their website:
We promote the PC gaming industry and the PC as a gaming platform, provide a forum to discuss, debate and influence all aspects of PC development for gaming and provide guidance to help resolve industry-wide challenges such as piracy and consumer experience issues.

PC Gaming Alliance will also provide guidelines to simplify hardware specifications and speed the introduction of new technologies, as well as improve Consumer PC Gaming Experience by working with developers and publishers and PCGA members to maximize the PC gaming experience in all ways possible.
GPG CEO Chris Taylor has the following to say:
“I've spent most of my career fully immersed in the world of PC gaming. It's where
many of the world's biggest gaming franchises were born and where much of the
industry's innovation continues to this day”, said Chris Taylor, Gas Powered Games CEO
and creative director. “By joining the PCGA, Gas Powered Games hopes to make
contributions that keep PC gaming at the forefront of the industry, help it to overcome
its challenges, and continue to fulfill its amazing potential.”
If he believes in the PC gaming cause, then I do because that man has brought me Total Annihilation and therefore 'He' shall never be doubted.
