It's been a while since my last game review but I just couldn't let anyone else check out Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Yup, I'm a fan of the series :)

Hmmm... NOD aren't that particularly weak. Their defense is much stronger than GDI's offense. And in the end, in the grand and advanced scheme of rock paper scissors that often is C&C3 NOD has some nice trick cards up it's sleeve. The Beam cannons for example way outrange a Mammoth tank. Playing with NOD just requires a different playstyle than playing with GDI. Simply building a whole army of Mammoths won't suffice, NOD is no steamroller.

Upgrade the Mammoth tanks with lasers and they make scrap iron of the beam cannons before those get into range to fire one single shot :)

Well, that's why I called it the Serious Sam of RTS gaming. Don't really think you should compare both as they've got a different scope

Shock troopers inside APCs + mammoth tanks are pretty devastating. A fully upgraded avatar which would cost you about 6600 probably could not take on 2 laser mammoth tanks which is obviously a huge problem. The enemy could also use engineers to capture your downed avatars along with their upgrades.

The alien race is not something to be overlooked, their very similar to the protoss actually. Their flying aircraft carriers and aerial artillery can quickly lay waste to base without very strong anti air, and even then their artillery has such a huge range of fire you will also need mobile anti-air. They also have really good defences and the ability to place a lightning turret anywhere on the map.

As said on IRC. NOD underpowered? Maybe in singleplayer, where you have the time and money to build up an onslaught of Mammoths, but if you're facing a skilled rusher (Scorps + buggies) in MP, you're in for a hard fight. Like Zembla says: NOD requiers other tactics than GDI.

And don't forget, GDI has by far the weakest air force (especially when facing the Scrin's Devastators and PACs) and their base defenses can't even hold a candle against an Obelisk (not to mention an Obelisk with Beam Cannon support) or their cheapo and ultra-deadly anti-air.
