PS2 goes Pink

Much like Nintendo did with the GBA when it was nearing its end of life, Sony has announced a pink version of their Playstation2 which will arrive in stores November 8, 2006.

The pink playstation2 will see its official debut next Wednesday at the start of the Games Convention in Leipzig

The new, limited edition Pink PlayStation 2 will be available from selected retailers throughout Europe from 8th November 2006 and will come complete with two Pink Analog Controller (DUALSHOCK®2) and a Pink Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation 2).

Sure, Spong claims that they contacted Sony, but then they write it as if it some "big" news, perhaps something pertaining to PS3. But it looks like it just was not true?

It is correct to use Spong as the source, because the news comes from them first-hand, it does not come direct from Sony. I don't see any real confirmation that it came from Sony, nor does most of the big sites either apparently.
