PS3 fanboys rejoice: Left 4 Dead coming up thanks to EA
Posted on Saturday, 2 August 2008 by Speed, source: ActionTrip
Valve and EA don't seem to be on the same line all the time. Why? Let me explain.
At first Left 4 dead was originally announced as being in development as a PC/Xbox360 exclusive. Around the same time rumours of a PS3 version being also in development hit the web but were equally fast shot down by Valve's Doug Lombardi who completely denied the rumour.
In May word of a PS3 version reappeared and Valve again denied saying they're "not PS3 developers".
Could very well be, but Electronic Arts has some developers wandering around who DO develop for PS3 and the latest issue of OPM has a tiny blurb stating that EA is going to do the PS3 port.
So: while Left 4 dead is supposed to appear on Xbox360 and PC November 4th, chances are high that a PS3 version will be released by EA at a later stage, a bit like what happened to The Orange Box.
