PS3 hacked after all?
The PlayStation 3 up until now was the only one of the modern consoles that hasn't been hacked. Reason for this, people often reasoned, was that Sony had already catered to the "hackers" needs by granting the ability to install Linux on the platform.
Apparently for the hacker GeoHot, short for Georze Hotz, this was not enough. He has now gained access to the gaming console after all. The man claims to have read-write access and a few other abilities. More details can be found on his blog, even though the information is rather on the short side.
For those who are in doubt of the authenticity of this message; GeoHot is known as the father of the iPhone jailbreak. In other words, the man has proven he can "break" a machine digitally.
According to GeoHot it took about 5 weeks to break the system. Kudos go to Sony he says, going 3 years and 2 months before being broken is a nice feat.
