PSN expanding in the future

In an interview, Sony CEO Howard Stringer stated he wants to expand the Playstation Network (PSN) outside the current scope of the Playstation3. This due to the fact that keeping it solely available through the company's next-gen console would limit it too much.

Next we will be expanding the PlayStation Network to hardware other than the PS3, because the number of PS3 units sold puts a limit on the scale of the network possible. Sony has a vertical structure for each product line, an organizational structure that resists change, so it will take time to achieve this network growth. However, a large number of employees share my opinion on this.

So the question now is: "What kind of devices does Stringer want PSN to be available on?"

Can you imagine your Sony amplifier being connected to the PSN? Well, to be honest, I can :)
