PSP-4000 coming late 2009, PSP2 not 'not confirmed'

Sony Entertainment seems to go the Nintendo way with its hand-held, the Playstation Portable. Eurogamer obtained this news whilst speaking with several developers. The iterative approach will probably come to and end late 2009 when the PSP-4000 becomes the successor of this year's PSP-3000. The first refresh of the original Sony portable, the PSP-2000 or Slim & Lite dates back from 2007.

It seems that there is no intention of making a PSP-5000 as some developers are already working on games for the true successor, the PSP2 (or whatever they decide to call it), even though we reported last week that the SCEE president claimed there were no plans at all for this device.
