Posted on Saturday, 22 September 2007 by Speed, source: Gamesindustry.biz
Gamesindustry.biz got their hands on the latest sales information in Japan from Media Create and it looks like Sony's PSP - the system everyone described as being dead but not burried yet - is doing extremely well.

Last week, Sony's handheld managed to take the top spot in hardware sales in Japan, topping even the Nintendo Wii and DS systems.

Full hardware figures:
1. PlayStation Portable: 95,487
2. Nintendo DS: 79,974
3. Nintendo Wii: 26,181
4. PlayStation 2: 13,128
5. PlayStation 3: 13,101
6. Xbox 360: 1243
7. Game Boy Advance: 836
8. Nintendo GameCube: 97

The reason for this sudden rise in sales? Last week saw the release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII on the PSP which got sold no less than 487,000 times and also was available in a bundle with the PSP
